WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE
My name is Peter Moore and I go on grand journeys and write about them. I've travelled overland from London to Sydney and from Cape Town to Cairo. And more recently I bought a Vespa as old as I am and rode around Italy.
I hope my stories convey what I love about travel - the adventure, the laughs, the tough times and the incredible hospitality of people in the most unexpected places. Most importantly, I hope my books make you want to hit the road yourself.

My mate Doug runs a web site called Signspotting. It's a repository for all those weird signs you see when you're travelling the world. The unintentionally funny, even obscene, warnings and instructions that come about when you attempt to use a language that is not your own.
Being an enterprising American, Doug has spun the Signspotting concept into a number of successful incarnations. There are the wildly popular books - Signspotting 1,2 and 3 (Number 4 is on the way). The hugely well-attended Signspotting exhibitions - Stockholm, Copenhagen, Dubai, Edinburgh and soon Covent Garden in London. And let's not forget the merchandising - greeting cards, fridge magnets and posters.
Now, at last, there's the Signspotting iPhone App.
It's called Sign Shaker, and it works like those Magic 8 Balls that were popular a few years back. You ask a question, shake your phone, and Sign Shaker gives you a randomly selected sign as an answer. Doug sent me a prototype a few weeks ago and I've got to say it's a lot of fun.
First up, if you've got an iPhone, do yourself a favour and download a copy. I guarantee it'll stay on your phone longer than that fart application you downloaded.
Secondly, I'm interested to hear any ideas you guys might have about how I could do something similar with my books.
Can't guarantee a commission, of course, but you will be duly credited!

Vroom by the Sea has been released in the UK and you can order it on Amazon by clicking here. It is already available in bookstores in Australia and NZ.
It picks up where Vroom with a View left off, and sees me riding through the sunny parts of Italy a few months before my daughter is born.
All your favourite characters are back. And a new one is introduced - a bright orange Rally 200 called Marcello.

I've been living in the UK long enough now to apply for a British passport - the holy grail for those of us who want to be able to live and work in both Oz and Europe.
To get a passport I needed to sit a citizenship test about life in the UK. The Home Office produces a book you can study. But I thought it'd be more fun to travel around the UK and observe life here first-hand.
That's where you guys came in. I've always believed the best travel experiences come from personal recommendations. And when I put the call out for your tips and suggestions I was overwhelmed by the response. Some of you were crazy enough to let me kip on your couch.
Right now I'm sifting through all my notes, photos and hazy memories to write an account of adventures called Blimey.
No concrete publication dates yet. But I'll let you know as soon as I know.
